I am sorry for the delay in replying your query. I am not too sure about the clubs which have sponsored the selected candidates, but I have given the regions that they come from.

The univocational medical team.

Post Subject: GSE Final selection results
Dear all,
The final GSE selection on the 7th at Erode went off very well. The selection committee had the GSE chair, DG, IPDG,DGE, DGN, PDG.Vallabh, DRFC, Rtn. Balavenkat of R.I.Dist.3201 and me. Rtn.Mohanasundaram had made excellent arrangements in his Hotel Le Jardine for the selections. The personal interview was done differently. There were eight separate areas for the interviewers to be seated and to conduct the interview of all the candidates individually on various specified topics. We assessed the candidates on their general knowledge, communication skills, knowledge about India and the USA, cultural talents and knowledge, basic idea about Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation and the knowledge about our District. Their dress sense, friendliness and how they carry themselves were all noted.
Four doctors were selected to go to Houston,Texas, USA in April under the leadership of Rtn.Dr. Jayaprakash as the team leader.Two other doctors were selected as standby candidates. For the 2 traditional teams we had 2 group discussions for the 18 short listed candidates in the afternoon. We assessed the group behaviour, leadership skills, communication skills and the listening attitude. Two teams of 4 each were selected finally and 2 standby candidates in each group were also listed. There was tranparency in the whole selection process and the candidates themselves enjoyed the whole exercise. Rtn. Kasthuri Rangan and Rtn. Sridharan Nambiar will be the two team leaders for the traditional teams.We must really compliment and congratulate the GSE Chair Rtn.Dr. Shankarnarayanan and Rtn. Dr. Balavenkat for the meticulous planning and execution of the entire process of a great selection. We wish the selected candidates all the very best and we hope that their vocational and cultural exchange would be fruitful and helpful to Rotary and bring about world understanding and peace through all their efforts of fellowship and friendship.
